About the Speaker


Dr. Himesh is passionate about impactful change and has been working in the circular economy space for over 4 years. Himesh was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship for Innovation in 2018 together with 20 other awardees from around the world. His fellowship was structured around this very same project. Himesh led Strategic Innovation for Hemas Holdings Plc. from 2014 to 2019. during which he was responsible for the development of new products, services and business models for strategic business units. Prior to joining Hemas, Himesh has worked in the Biotechnology industry in Oxford UK, and at the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) in both Business Development and Scientific Research. He obtained his Doctorate from the University of Cambridge in the field of cancer research and has a 1st Class BSc Honours from the University of Colombo in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. He holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. He was the head prefect at S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia where he captained athletics, vice captained the rugby football and played 1st XI hockey.
