This year, the SLASSCOM Innovation Forum is making arrangements to host the SLASSCOM Innovation Awards & Gala 2019 at the Shangri-La Colombo, purely focusing on recognizing the greatest innovators of Sri Lanka.


The SLASSCOM Innovation Awards program will be the premier Tech Innovation Awards for the Sri Lankan IT and BPM Industry.


Under the SLASSCOM Innovation Forum's theme for 2019/2020 "Cultivating an Innovation Ecosystem", this year we are hoping to commence with an event which brings brings more than 300+ professionals representing the IT and BPM Industry.

Eligibility Criteria / Submission Requirements










(1) Best Product Innovation


Have you created a killer product/intellectual property that has the potential to yield 100x ROI? 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Profile of the Product 
  • Brochures and Datasheets on Product
  • A 1,000 word write up on why your product is innovative in your particular industry and a 10 minute video/screencast
  • Details on the product's commercial release and acceptance

(2) Best Startup Product / Service


Have you launched a game-changing product/service in the last two years? 

  • Profile of the Product 
  • Brochures and Datasheets on Product
  • A 1,000 word write up on why your product is innovative in your particular industry and a 10 minute video/screencast 
  • Details on the product's commercial release or details on the MVP
  • Note: The product must have been launched after 1st January 2017. (This cannot be a rebranded or a new version of an existing product launched prior to 2017)

(3) Best Client Delivery Innovation 


Has your client recognized /celebrated your innovation?

  • Profile of how innovative your delivery system was
  • A 1,000 word write up on your innovation for your client/industry and a 10 minute video/screencast
  • Client testimonials supporting the innovation including tangible proof such as efficiency reports or any other reports that can prove the effectiveness of the innovation

(4) Best Disruptor Award


Are you transforming your industry? Are you creating a 'new normal'?

  • Profile of the Product 
  • Brochures and datasheets on product
  • A 1,000 word write up on how your innovation has disrupted a market or industry, supported by a 10 minute video/screencast 
  • Supporting press articles, independent reports or client endorsements to support this disruption

(5) Best Innovation in Internal Process


Have you innovated an internal process to produce outstanding results?

  • A 1000 word write up and 10 minute video/screencast on the innovation you have done in your Internal Processes. 
  • How have you Changed your internal processes. What changes have you seen after changing these processes? What are the tangible benefits of adopting this change ? How has this change directly affected the profitability and efficiency of your organization?
  • Provide figures and reports to corroborate the information.

(6) Best Innovation in Business Process Management


Do you know your client's business processes better than they do?

  • A 1,000 word write up and 10 minute video/screencast on the innovation. How has your innovation helped your client or customer?
  • Further documentation such as brochures and datasheets on the process improvement/ service
  • Supporting customer testimonials on the effectiveness of the service and the value provided
  • Note: This category is for companies exclusively engaged in BPM, KPO, LPO, FAO services.

(7) Best Technology or Framework Innovation


Have you produced or defined the frameworks of your industry?

  • A 1,000 word write up and 10 minute video/screencast to justify: What is the technology that you are developing. and why do you believe this an innovative technology?
  • Brochures or datasheets of the technology and your adaptation
  • Submit links and copies of any journalistic articles highlighting your innovation in your particular industry
  • Is the technology/framework in an emerging area of innovation i.e AR, VR, Machine Learning, AI, Blockchain?
  • Link to demo of product/framework (even a test version is acceptable)

Achyuta Ghosh


Achyuta has over 17 years of professional experience in analytics, research and consulting. He is an active technology evangelist and has assisted Fortune 500 companies and investors with strategic insights on digital transformation, and its impact on business strategy, future of work, and global sourcing.


Achyuta heads research at NASSCOM. In his current role, he actively works with different industry stakeholders on developing the roadmap in disruptive technology areas such as artificial intelligence, IoT, blockchain, robotics, and virtual reality for the Indian IT-BPM industry.


Prior to NASSCOM, Achyuta led the smart cities business for Ford Smart Mobility in India, where he collaborated with Indian smart cities to understand their unique transportation challenges and designed innovative solutions through partnerships and in-house technology product development.


He has also worked in technology organizations such as Frost &Sullivan, Genpact, and WNS in various leadership consulting roles

Jeanette Cheah


Jeanette Cheah is the co-founder and CEO of The Hacker Exchange, a global, tertiary-accredited company. Through immersive programs to Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Singapore and beyond, The Hacker Exchange helps students, founders and curious professionals to develop global citizenship, entrepreneurship and innovation skills, and to embrace lifelong learning.

Eli Itin


Eli is the Founder and Senior Innovation Consultant at Northern Star Innovation, a boutique consultancy specializing in the creation and management of organizational innovation.Previously he was the Global Innovation Business Lead at Amdocs, and have over 20 years' international experience in marketing and in¬novation roles in large corporate organizations. Predominantly, advising enterprise organizations on creat¬ing and advancing an innovation culture, helping to define and solve organizational challenges, and creating winning innovation strategies.

Notes:


1. A processing fee of LKR 12,500 (+taxes) will be charged per entry in any category outside of the "Best Startup Product", which is priced at LKR 7,500 (+taxes) per entry.


2. Your content should be within the word counts/time limits specified.


3. Please indicate a single point of contact we can correspond with during the nomination and selection stages.


4. Awards will be considered for projects/innovations that were initiated no earlier than the 1st of January 2016. The "Startup Product" should be after the 1st of January 2017.


5. The Awards Committee has the right to not award a winner for a category if a suitable candidate is not available within the submissions received.


6. Applications submission process is completed once the entry payments are made.
