Problem Statements to be discussed
at the Panel Discussion?
Environmental Crisis in Sri Lanka
Coastal and marine waters are threatened by pesticides, fertilizer, industrial waste and run-offs from waste dumps. Rivers that flow out into the sea deteriorate the sea water. Oil spills, chemicals and non-biodegradable waste such as plastic also decrease the quality of Sri Lanka's seawater.
Negative Impacts of Climate Changes in Sri Lanka
Climate change is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. Climate impacts are already harming health, through air pollution, disease, extreme weather events, and forced displacement, pressures on mental health, and increased hunger and poor nutrition in places where people cannot grow or find sufficient food.
Land issues in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka suffers from serious agricultural land use issues namely land fragmentation, small land plots, and poor land management practices. Prevalent issues concerning rural and agricultural lands necessitate prudent policy measures to promote efficient and sustainable land-use practices.
How can we leverage Technology to eliminate or reduce the impacts of these issues?
