Ranil Vitarana is the Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Technology Officer of MAS Holdings. As CIO, he is responsible for developing and implementing next-generation platform technologies, open innovation, managing and monetizing the company's IP portfolio, as well as incubating new business adjacencies while ensuring the above adhere to the MAS vision and strategy. As CTO, Ranil aims to bring bold new thinking to the organization, enabling MAS to evolve from an apparel manufacturer to an innovative solutions provider working with Fortune 500 companies. The solutions developed under the innovation mandate span across to various industries and include numerous product innovations and technology launches to the market. Under the entrepreneurial guidance of Ranil, Twinery, the Innovation arm of MAS Holdings, has received numerous awards for product innovation at CES and ISPO for a range of disruptive revolutionary technologies that enhance the way humanity will live. Through Ranil’s vision, Twinery is a company built to harness the power of thread and through Twinery’s revolutionary breakthroughs, every thread will be a smart, intuitive thread. With over 20 years of diverse industry experience, Ranil has been able to foster successful collaborations between academia, industry, corporates, start-ups and national initiatives. His professional expertise is strengthened by a technical background and an intrinsic entrepreneurial mindset that seeks to connect the dots between B2B customer requirements and end-consumer needs through diverse new business models and first to-market products and value propositions. Ranil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College, London and has completed his Executive education from Singularity University, USA.
